HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-01-30 - Board of Directors Meeting Minutes1049 January 30, 1974 The adjourned meeting of the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda County Water District was called to order by Vice President Clodt at 4:00 p.m. in the offices of the District January 30, 1974, Directors present and answering the roll: Clodt, Lindow, Knauft and Wagner. Director Hastings absent. Also present general manager Ralph Shook, secretary Jean Mathews, engineer DuWayne Lidke, attorney Rodger Howell and operations manager Pete Royere. The purpose of the adjourned meeting to award the bid on Job 542 B. Bids were opened at 10:30 a.m. January 30, 1974. G.R. McKervey Inc had the low bid of $148,675.00 for Schedule I through III inclusive. The bid per Schedule is as follows: Schedule I $51,840, Schedule II 35,202 and Schedule III $61,815. Engineer's estimate $173,900. Discussion General Manager Shook and Engineer Lidke recommended the award of the contract to G.R. McKervey, Inc. Attorney Howell concurred. Moved by Director Wagner, seconded by Director Knauft to award the contract for Job 542 B to G.R. McKervey Inc. for all three schedules for total bid price of $148675.00 with authorization to sign all documents required. Motion carried unanimously. Discussion of income, investments and the possibility of a rate in- crease. General Manager Shook reported that the Reservoir No. 1 cleaning had gone without incident on Tuesday, no noticable cracks in the reservoir and he considered it in very good condition. Mr. Shook discussed the bill as rendered by the County for the last Qlection. Considerably higher than the last election but there is an increase in registered voters along with the Proposition I, making an increase in voting precincts to 36. Rodger Howell said it would be proper to protest but felt there was nothing that could be done except to pay the bill as rendered. Next board meeting February 14, 1974 at 8:30 a.m. Meeting adjourned on a motion by Director Knauft seconded by Director Lindow carried unanimously. Jean E. Mathews, Secretary
