HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-08-25 - Board of Directors Meeting Minutes449 August 25, 1965 An adjourned meeting of the Board-of Directors of the Yorba Linda County Water District was called to order by President Wagner at 8:30 A.M. August 25, 1965 at the office of the District. Directors present and answering the roll were, Directors Wagner, Milmoe, McGuire and Hastings. Attorney Jim Erickson was also present. Director Clodt was absent. _ The drawings for Job 270 - O.C.-51 were presented for approval. Discussion - Manager Shook reported there would be several thousand yards of excess dirt to dispose of on the Reservoir Site'and suggested that this could be sold if we started now and it would save a great deal of money at the time of construction of the reservoir. President Wagner appointed a committee consisting of Director Hastings, Milmoe and,McGuire to meet with'Brian Stone of James M. Montgomery and the General Manager Ralph Shook to go over these drawings form M.W.D. and O.C.M.W.D. for the connection known as OC-51, this Committee to have the power to act regarding the approval or disapproval of these plans. Manager Shook`announced that a Safety Award would be,made to Yorba Linda County Water District for the 1964 safety record by the California Section of AWWA at La Palma Park Recreation,Center on September 15, 1965, Motion byDirector Milmoe, seconded by Director McGuire and unanimously carried that the General Manager be present to accept the award on behalf of the District. S-391- Documents ready for execution. Motion by Director Hastings, seconded by Director McGuire that the proprly authorized officers execute documents for S-391. Motion carried unanimously. s-47-- Three easements ready for acceptance by the District. Motinn by Director Hastings, seconded by Director McGuire,'carried unanimously that these easements for S-47 be accepted. Job 429 - Rainville - Orchard Drive. Pursuant to the rules and regulations the application and exhibits were examined. Moved by Director McGuire, seconded by Director Hastings and carried that the staff's recommendation be approved unanimously and that the fgntage charges could not be waived unless a document properly executed by the School Board was presented by Mr. Rainville. A otter from the Superintendents office would not be acceptable. Job 5-14-725 Commercial bolding on Lemon. Pursuant to the Rule=s and Regulations the application and exhibits were examined. Property is in drainage area "C", area is less than 450 August 25, 1965 ( continued ) one acre, service rate is $350.00 per acre, there is no refund agreement. Motion by Director Hastings seconded by Director McGuire unanimously carried that the sewer application be approved as recommended by Staff. Job 428 Staff presented two alternates for watr service to this parcel. Discussion. Motion by Director McGuire, seconded by Director Hastings and carried unanimously that the two alternates be presented House, either one that he chooses meets with Board approval. - The hour of 10:00 A.M. having arrived Bids for Job 67 and Job 223 are opened as follows: Regal Construction of, Pomona Item L. 6" A.C. 1690 ft./1.50/ft. total 2,535.00 Item 2.. Installation of 4 fire hyd./$100.00ea. 400.00 Item 3. installation of 33-®1" services/$15.00ea.495.00 Total Bid 25-585.00 Motion by Director Milmoe, seconded by Director McGuire and carried unanimously that the bid be awarded the lowest res..- pom.sible bidder. Motion by Director McGuire, seconded by Director Hastings and carried unanimously that the audited bills and refunds against the District be paid. - Discussion regarding ax uniform dress for all employees, to in. clude plant operators, engineering and field x maintenance crews. No decision at this time. Ralph Shook reported that the Cement lining of the.20" line would be started Monday August 30, 1965. Regarding the connection OC-36 for Shell - Mr. Shook reported that a letter had been written to O.C.M.W.D. requesting that the temporary connection agreement be continued for another three year term, as Shell Oil estimate that the connection would be needed for a limited time only and the District can see no ki permanent use of a connection at this location serving untreated water. 451 August 25, 1965 (continued) Jim Erickson reported that the Brea vs. Y.L.C.W.D. was in Appelate Court and would be some time before any action would be seen in this case. Director Milmoe made a motion, seconded by Director Hastings that all Directors of the District have permission to leave the State of California for eithr business or pleasure between this meeting and the next regular meeting.
