HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-01-05 - Board of Directors Meeting Minutes36 January 5, 1960 A special meeting of the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda County Water District was convened at the office of the District on January 5, 1960 at 3:00 P.M. by Pres- ident D. E. Grist. On the call of the roll Directors Crist_, Wagner, Milmoe, and Hastings were present. Director Clodt was absent. On a motion made by Director Hastings, seconded by Director Wagner, and unaimously carried Resolution No. 18 was adopted as follows: RESOLVED: That Leonard L. Dueker is hereby appointed by the Yorba Linda County Water District, as General Manager thereof, at a salary of $700.00 per month, effective January 1, 1960, Plus $60.00 per month auto allowance. On a motion by Director Hastings, seconded by Director Milmoe, and unanimously carried Resolution No. 19 was adopted as follows: RESOLVED: That by the reason of the aquisition of all of the operating facilities of the Yorba Linda Water Co. end the necessity of continuing uninterruptedly the production and distribution of water, all employees of said Company are hereby hired by the Yorba Linda County Water District, effective January 1, 1960, at the salaries being received by them from the Water Company pending future job study and classification; that the names and salaries as set forth on the list submitted by General Manager Dueker is ap- proved, and that said list shall be entered upon the Minutes of this Board. Salary Schedule: L. L. Dueker, General Manager; $700.00 per month; V. Y.Smith, Secretary Auditor, $475.00 per month; R. W. Knight, Zanjero, $425.00 per month; C. E. Thomas, Foreman, $2.45 per hour; H. E. Anrecht, Chief Pumper, $2.36 per hour; V. E.Thomas, Repairman, $2.30 per hour; R. C.Shook, Utility, $2.30 per hour; F. Burmaster, Pumper, $2.10 per hour; D. E. Sepulveda, Pumper, $*2.10 per hour; E.A. Thomas, Pumper, $2.10 per hour; J. E. Mathews, Bookeeper, $360.00 per month. On a motion by Director Wagner, seconded by Director Hastings, and unanimously carried Resolution No. 20 was adopted as follows: RESOLVED: That pending a final determination of rates for water services, the following rates are hereby adopted, effective January 1, 1960, as an interim rate schedule for the Yorba Linda County Water District: DOMESTIC AND COMMERCIAL SERVICE MINIMUM CHARGE 5/811 x 314" meter 3/411 11 u 1t l~ a if 211 11 311 u 411 if Additional water at $0.062 per 100 IRRIGATION SERVICE No minimum charge. All Water ALLOWANCE $ rER MONTH 2000 cu. ft. 3.50 2000 cu. ft. 3.50 2800 cu. ft 4.00 6800 cu. ft. 6.50 11600 cu. ft. 9.50 23700 cu. ft. 17.00 44700 cu. ft. 30.00 cubic feet. $27.00 per acre-foot $ 0.062 per 100 cubic feet $ 0.0446 per miner-inch-hour On a motion by Director Milmoe, seconded by Director Hastings, and unanimously carried Resolution No. 21 was adopted providing for the District to make ap- plication to the Board of Public Health of the State of California for a permit 37 to use existing works as aquired from the Yorba Linda Water Co. for the purpose of serving domestic water. On a motion by Director Hastings, seconded by Director Wagner, and unanimously carried, Resolution No. 22 was adopted as follows: RESOLVED: That the Statement prepared by Stone and Youngberg be approved and that the same be adopted as the official Statement of the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda County Water District as of December 23, 1959. Mr. Milo Keith of Lowry and Associates arrived and presented a letter asking for a delay in presenting the final Bond Report for the Sewer District due to the fact that it was their opinion it would be best to wait until arrangements for finan- cing certain trunk lines were completed by Sanitation District No. 2. It was moved by Director Hastings, seconded by Director Milmoe and carried that the recommended delay be granted. After discussion a motion was made by Director Milmoe, seconded by Director Hastings, and carried that the General Manager and the staff be permitted to assist the Yorba Linda Water Co. until its dissolution, with the understanding that the Water Co. reimburse the District for said services at the actual cost of the labor involved plus 15% for overhead. A motion was made by Director Hastings, seconded by Director Wagner and carried that the Secretary Auditor be authorized to pay notes due-the-Bank of America in the amount of $4000.00 plus interest accrued on or before January 13, 1960.
