An adjourned meeting of the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda County Water
District was called to order at the office of the District March 16, 1960 at the
hour of 4:00 o'clock p.m. by President Crist. Directors present and answering
the roll call were: Mr. Crist, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Hastings, and Mr. Milmoe.
Director Clodt was absent. Attorney, H. Rodger Howell was also present.
The first order of business was the opening of bids presented by the following
firms: R. E. Ziebarth, Hoogland & Finley, Bovee & Crail Const., Hood Const.,
Lacey Mfg. Co., Pittsburgh Des Moines Steel Co., Chicago Bridge & Iron, Pascal
& Ludwig Const., Inc., S. W. Welding, Consolidated Western Steel, General. American
Transportation Co., Grover Tank & Mfg. Co., BeJac Const. Co., and_ Young & Anderson
Co.
Representatives of most firms bidding were present. Also present were repre-
sentatives of the Daily Construction Report and the Daily Construction Service.
A motion was made by Director Milmoe, seconded by Director Hastings, and. carried
that the bids be referred to the General Manager, Attorney and Secretary for
opening and checking totals and bidders surety bonds and to the Engineers for
evaluation before a declaration of award by the District Board.
A motion was made by Director Milmoe, seconded by Director Wagner and carried th at
the representatives-of the two trade journals be permitted to copy the unit prices
of the bids presented.
A letter was read from Mr. W. G. Paul Jr. requesting that at least three of the
current Board members resign and a special election be held. to replace them. The
receipt of time letter was acknowledged and the Secretary instructed to file same.
On a motion made by Director Hastings, seconded by Director Wagner and duly
carried the meeting was adjourned to the hour of 8:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 1960.
