RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT
REGARDING A NEUTRAL POSITION ON THE PROPOSED
MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY CONSOLIDATION
WITH COASTAL MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Municipal Water District of Orange County (MWDOC) has proposed
consolidation with the Coastal Municipal Water District (Coastal); and
WHEREAS, MWDOC requested that it's member agencies participate in the process by
reviewing consolidation materials and adopting a Resolution to either support
or oppose the proposed consolidation; and
WHEREAS, the Yorba Linda Water District Board of Directors reviewed the process and
materials related to the proposed consolidation; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors determined the proposed consolidation will have little
affect on representation at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern
California nor will it, in and of itself, increase imported water costs to District
customers; and,
WHEREAS, since the proposed consolidation will not affect District customers, it is a local
matter between MWDOC and Coastal.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda Water
District that the Yorba Linda Water District expresses it's appreciation that MWDOC included
the District in the process but takes a neutral position regarding the proposed Municipal Water
District of Orange County consolidation with Coastal Municipal Water District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the General Manager is instructed to send a certified copy
of this Resolution to the Municipal Water District of Orange County.
