Public Information Committee
Summary Minutes of the Public Information Committee Meeting
The Public Information Committee held a meeting on July 30, 1998. Present were Michael
Beverage, Paul Armstrong, William Robertson, Michael Payne, Michael Robinson, and Laer
Pearce and Lisa from Laer Pearce and Associates. The following items were discussed:
Item 1. YLWD annual report. Mr. Robinson reported the Annual Report is at the printers.
Item 2. Public Information Plan 1998 -99. The Committee reviewed a preliminary Plan for
1998 -99. The preliminary Plan reduces the amount of consultant effort but does not eliminate it.
Lengthy discussion of the consultants limited scope of work. The Plan will undergo one more
Committee review before presentation to the full Board of Directors.
Item 3. Telephone Listings. The Committee discussed access to the District in public
telephone books and methods to improve said access. Staff will request changes in the various
telephone books as to where the District's telephone number appears and the appearance of the
District's name to bold type. In addition, the Committee discussed preparing an information
item, such as a magnetic disk, for distribution to customers that identifies the District's
emergency service phone number. A draft of this item is scheduled for review by the end of
August.
