Public Information Committee
Summary Minutes of the Public Information Committee Meeting
The Public Information Committee held a meeting on January 12, 1999. Present were Michael
Beverage, Brett Barbre, William Robertson and Michael Payne. The following items were
discussed:
Item 1. Legislative issues. The Committee discussed renewing the agreement with Sacramento
Advocates and requested that Mr. Brokaw visit a February Board meeting.
Item 2. Bankruptcy Letter. The Committee clarified that this was not an individual letter to
customers re: the current bankruptcy status, but instead was part of series of articles in other
communication medium such as Waterlines and Zip Code magazine.
Item 3. Public Information Activities. The Committee reviewed the status of several activities
discussed at last years Committee meeting. Staff responded and will have further information at
a later date. In addition, the Committee discussed some activities related to 90 years of service in
the community.
Item 4. Web site. Lengthy discussion of a web site and it's potential content.
Item 5. Letter to Unconnected Sewer Customers. The Committee requested this letter take the
form of a survey. Staff will work on a draft and present it at the next Committee meeting.
Item 6. City owned Sewer System. Discussion regarding the City -owned Sewer system.
Item 7. YLWD History. The Committee clarified this project is probably more than a simple
graduate student project as was first envisioned.
Item 8. Yorba Linda Store. Discussion of mementos to commemorate the District's 90 of
service in the community and replenishing stocks of previous mementos.
