Summary Minutes of the Planning- Engineering- Operations Committee Meeting
The Planning- Engineering- Operations Committee held a meeting on January 12, 1998. Present
were Directors Carl Scanlin and Arthur Korn, and staff members William Robertson, Lee Cory,
John Townsell, and Chuck Gray. The following items were discussed by the committee.
1. Safety Stairs. Lee Cory, Operations Superintendent, presented a staff report on bids
received to construct access stairways to under drain inspection vaults at the Bryant and
Springview Reservoir sites. Staff has received two bids and is in the process of securing a
third bid. An agenda considering this matter will be presented to the Board of Directors at
the February 12, 1998 Board meeting.
2. Sewer Rules. Chuck Gray, Engineering Manager, presented a staff report on proposed
sewer rule revisions. Items discussed were revisions to the District's Sewer Rules so they
will be the same as the Universal Plumbing Code and City of Yorba Linda's Building
Code. In addition, sewer connection requirements for subdivided property was discussed.
An Agenda Report considering this matter is contained within this Agenda.
3. Paving Contract. Lee Cory, Operations Superintendent, presented a staff report on bids
received for the District's two year paving contract. Staff is conducting a review of the
apparent low bidder to address issues pertaining to scheduling, notification, materials, and
quality issues. An agenda considering this matter will be presented to the Board of
Directors at a later date.
4. Other. The committee conducted a general discussion of vehicle, equipment, and gas
engine replacements, and the status of sewer facilities for the Chabad Center on Yorba
Linda Boulevard.
