A000 SUBJECT: Summary Minutes of the Planning- Engineering- Operations Committee Meeting The Planning- Engineering- Operations Committee held a meeting on August 25, 1998. Present were Directors Paul Armstrong, Arthur Korn and staff members Michael Payne, Lee Cory, Chuck Gray, Ken Vecchiarelli, and Robert Lemon. The following items were discussed by the committee. 1. Chlorinator Project. Ken Vecchiarelli, Assistant Engineering Manager, presented a staff report on the District's chlorinator replacement project. Items discussed were the elimination of the Well No. 16 and 17 chlorine facility, estimated construction costs, and additional construction management and inspection costs. In addition, a proposed schedule for public bidding was reviewed. This matter will be presented for action by the full Board of Directors at the second meeting in September. 2. Sewer Lift Station. Ken Vecchiarelli, Assistant Engineering Manager, presented a staff report on the District's sewer lift station project. Items discussed were the wet well/dry well configuration of a permanent sewer lift station, estimated construction costs, and the impact of the Yorba Linda Heights project planned on the former Brighton property near the NOCCCD facility. An agenda report considering this issue will be presented to the Board at a future date. 3. Yorba Linda Heights Development. Chuck Gray, Engineering Manager, presented a staff report on Yorba Linda Heights development project. This land was formerly owned by Brighton Homes and is located north of the NOCCCD property. The property is now owned by the Pulte Development Company and development plans are now being processed through the City of Yorba Linda. Items discussed were the water and sewer master plan, preannexation agreement requirements, and the timing of the project. In addition, the coordination of this project with the S &S and NOCCCD properties was reviewed. Staff will keep the committee advised of the progress of this project. 4. Richfield Plant Remodel Project. Robert Lemon, Senior Engineering Technician, presented a staff report on the Richfield Plant remodel project. Items discussed were the building layouts, landscape plans, project timing, and the estimated budget for the project. An agenda report considering this issue will be presented to the Board at a future date. 5. Other. The committee conducted a general discussion of the status of the Richfield Road pipeline replacement project, proposals received to modify the District's Risk Management and Prevention Program to include propane gas, and coordination of District facilities with Orange County Fire Authority's emergency fire fighting requirements.
