SUBJECT: Summary Minutes of the Finance - Accounting Committee Meeting
The Finance - Accounting Committee held a meeting on January 26, 2000. Present were Arthur
C. Korn, Mark Abramowitz, William Robertson, Beverly Meza and Lee Cory. The Committee
discussed the following items:
1. Fees and Charges. Mr. Robertson reported the staff reviewed the existing customer service
and development fees and does not recommend any changes right now except to add a new
fee for radio read meters. The radio read meter fee is $200 higher than the existing normal
meter fee to pay the extra cost of the device. The Committee discussed the matter and offered
their advice. Staff will prepare the changes and present them to the Board at the second
meeting in February.
2. Cooperative Purchase Agreements. Mr. Lee Cory discussed some general concepts of using
cooperative purchasing agreements. After a lengthy discussion, the Committee concurred it
provides benefits under certain circumstances. Staff will pursue this matter and present it for
Board action at a later date.
