YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT and
MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT OF ORANGE COUNTY
AD HOC COMMITTEE MEETING
December 17, 2007
A meeting of the Yorba Linda Water District and Municipal Water District of Orange County Ad
Hoc Committee was called to order by Committee Chair Michael Beverage called the meeting to
order at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District Administrative offices at 4622 Plumosa
Drive, Yorba Linda.

Kevin Hunt, General Manager
INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None
DISCUSSION
1. MWDOC Tier 2
Kevin Hunt outlined the current status of the import water into Orange County. The
agencies are expected to surpass the limitations of Tier 1 and go into Tier 2 by 30,000
acf. The committee discussed the importance of water conservation as it relates to
Tier 2.
2. LAFCO Study
Kevin Hunt outlined the status of the LAFCO Municipal Services Review. The
committee discussed governance issues.
3. Water Crisis Messaging
The Committee discussed the drought and the water issues in the Colorado River and
northern California. The committee also discussed the actions already taken by some
agencies and all future press releases should state the same message. Kevin Hunt
agreed to keep YLWD in the loop.
4. Grant Coordination
Michael Payne discussed the District's attempts to solicit grants. Kevin Hunt offered
assistance in helping staff with future grants.
ADJOURNMENT
The committee adjourned at 5:18 p.m. The next YLWD-MWDOC Ad Hoc Committee will be
held on February 26, 2008, 4:00 p.m.
