MINUTES OF THE
10 YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT
PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE
March 6, 2007
A meeting of the Public Information Committee was called to order by Committee Chair Ric
Collett at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District Headquarters, 4622 Plumosa Drive,
Yorba Linda.

ACTION ITEMS
1. MWD Seven Dav Shutdown. The Committee reviewed the District's plans for dealing
with the temporary loss of imported water. The District will ask water consumers to avoid
unnecessary water use through messages in the water bills, a press release, cable
television and the internet web site.
2. Review 2006 Annual Report and Consumer Confidence Report. The Committee
reviewed plans for publication of the Annual Report combined with the Consumer
Confidence Report and provided direction to staff. Mr. de los Reyes and Mr. Decriscio
left the meeting following this item.
3. New Administration Buildina Groundbreaking Ceremonv. The Committee discussed the
plans for a groundbreaking ceremony/open house to be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007
in conjunction with Water Awareness Month.
STANDING ITEMS
4. Smart Timer Program. This program involves rebates for residential, commercial and
institutional customers to install landscape irrigation controllers that adjust watering to
current and historical weather conditions. The committee reviewed recent activity within
the District. There were 33 smartimer valves installed within the Distinct in January. ,

5. MWDOC School Program. This program provides comprehensive water issues
education to elementary school students. There was nothing new to report.
6. Press Releases. The Committee reviewed a release concerning the MWD Diemer
shutdown.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
7. Submittal of Claire A. Hill aaencv award for excellence. The Committee reviewed the
District application for this award.
8. District tour for elected officials. The committee
discussed the agenda for the tour which
is planned for-March 17, 2007.
9. Status Report on District Information Activities. The Committee reviewed upcoming
District events.
