HomeMy WebLinkAbout2007-05-01 - Public Information Committee Meeting MinutesITEM NO. 18-C MINUTES OF THE YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE May 1, 2007 A meeting of the Public Information Committee was called to order by Committee Chair Ric Collett at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District Headquarters, 4622 Plumosa Drive, Yorba Linda. DIRECTORS PRESENT Ric Collett, Chair Michael Beverage STAFF PRESENT Michael A. Payne, General Manager Mike Robinson, Public Information Officer ACTION ITEMS 1. Review 2007 Consumer Confidence Report The Committee reviewed plans for publication of the Consumer Confidence Report and provided direction to staff. 2. May Water Awareness Month Open House and Groundbreaking Ceremony for New Administration Building. The Committee discussed the plans for a groundbreaking ceremony/open house to be held on Saturday, May 5, 2007 in conjunction with Water Awareness Month and provided direction to staff. STANDING ITEMS 3. Smart Timer Program. The committee reviewed recent activity within the District. There were 25 Smartimer valves installed within the District in March. 4. MWDOC School Program. This program provides comprehensive water issues education to elementary school students. There was nothing new to report. 5. Press Releases. The Committee reviewed two releases for the month of April. 6. District GIS. The Committee discussed implementation of a GIS. 7. District internet web site. The Committee discussed the continuing update of information on the web site. 8. Water Education Foundation 2007 Giving Back Contribution Plan The Committee reviewed distribution of items available to the District and provided direction to staff. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS 9. Status Report on District Information Activities. The Committee reviewed upcoming District events. ADJOURNMENT The committee adjourned at 4:53 p.m. The next Public Information Committee is scheduled for June 5, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the District Headquarters, 4622 Plumosa Drive, Yorba Linda.
