PLANNING-ENGINEERING-OPERATIONS COMMITTEE JAN
January 5, 2006 - 4:00 p.m.

A meeting of the Planning-Engineering-Operations Committee was called to order by Committee
Chair Summerfield at 4:05 p.m. The meeting was held at the District Headquarters, 4622
Plumosa Drive, Yorba Linda.

INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None
ACTION ITEMS:
1. None
STANDING ITEMS:
2. Status of Low Pressure areas. Michael Payne summarized the issues of low water
pressures in certain areas and what has been done to date to address the issue. District
staff is currently checking valves, monitoring pressures, reviewing operational procedures
on pressure reducing stations and issues dealing with nitrification. Staff is proposing to
prioritize the various areas and will meet with homeowners.
3. Status report on the Sensus Meter replacement proaram. Michael Payne reviewed the
areas where the contractors are working. To date, the contractor has replaced
approximately 800 meters. The areas completed are Avenida Rio Del Oro, Vesuvius, and
Fairmont Hills condominium project. The contractor is now replacing meters in the
Chicago-2nd Street area.
INFORMATION ITEMS:
1. Committee member expectations. Michael Payne asked the committee if there were any
items of interest that this committee would like to review. The Committee members would
consider and bring ideas to the next committee. Michael Payne reported that he is
planning to provide the committees with more information in the agenda packets.
The committee adjourned at 5:23 p.m.

The next Committee is scheduled for February 2, 2006 in the District's Plumosa Office Board
room.
