Beverage at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District Headquarters, 4622 Plumosa Drive, Yorba Linda. YLWD DIRECTORS PRESENT Michael J. Beverage, Chair William R. Payne, General Manager MWDOC DIRECTOR PRESENT Brett Barbre, Director ALSO PRESENT None MWDOC STAFF PRESENT Kevin Hunt, General Manager DISCUSSION ITEMS 1. Treated Water Peakina Charae Studv by Met Kevin Hunt and Brett Barbre led a discussion about MWD's peaking charge study. In summary, the study compared the rate impacts of the treated water capacity charge for all MWD member agencies. MWDOC is approximately 4% lower than the average of the other agencies. The Diemer plant peak load is at 729 cfs. This relates to a peaking factor of 1.96. MWDOC's rate is lower at 1.4. The potential rate impact would impact the agencies having higher peak factors. The top 3 MWDOC agencies are Moulton Niguel WD, IRWD and Santa Margarita WD. The committee discussed alternatives. 2. Tier 1/Tier 2 Proiections for 2005 and 2006 and mitigation strateaies Kevin Hunt reviewed the Tier 1/Tier 2 Projections for 2005 and 2006. This year MWDOC managed to not use tier 2 water. It is possible MWDOC may reduce the tier 2 water rate next year. 3. Hazard Mitigation Plan Kevin Hunt led a discussion about MWDOC's Hazard Mitigation Plan. Kelly Hubbard of MWDOC is coordinating the plan. The costs will be shared by the MWDOC agencies. This plan would allow agencies to apply for grants in the future. Each agency will contribute approximately $5,000 4. 2006 Emeraencv Preparedness Kevin Hunt explained MWDOCs proposed activities for emergency preparedness. Kelly Hubbard is the chairperson leading the Water Emergency Response of Orange County (WEROC). Michael Payne informed the committee that District staff has volunteered to serve on WEROC during emergencies and drills. The Ad-Hoc committee adjourned at 5:23 p.m.
