A meeting of the Yorba Linda Water District-Municipal Water District of Orange County Ad Hoc
Committee was called to order by Committee Chair Michael J. Beverage at 4:00 p.m. The
meeting was held at the District Headquarters, 4622 Plumosa Drive, Yorba Linda.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. MWDOC Budget and Proposed Rates
Kevin Hunt and Brett Barbre led a discussion about MWDOC's Budget and
Proposed Rates. In summary the proposed rates would go up in certain areas and
down in others. The net effect to YLWD is an increase of about $11,000 per
year. The proposed rates would be discussed at future meetings. Michael Payne
raised the issue of a penalty imposed by MWDOC for exceeding our take on the
AMP due to the in-lieu program. MWDOC will correct the problem.
2. Grant Funding
Kevin Hunt led a discussion about the various grants available to agencies.
MWDOC offered assistance to YLWD in researching the grants available. Kevin
Hunt provided additional names and consultants that specialize in this area.
3. Status of Cal Fed Progress
a. Budget
b. Proposed statewide per-service connection charge
MWDOC attended a presentation by Lester Snow on the Cal Fed process. Mr.
Snow indicated there are discussions of citizens paying a fee of $2.00 a month per
connection to fund the Cal Fed.
The Ad-Hoc committee adjourned at 5:09 p.m.
