SUBJECT: Summary Minutes of the Municipal Water District of Orange County Ad Hoc
Committee Meeting
The Municipal Water District of Orange (MWDOC) County Ad Hoc Committee held a meeting
on January 28, 2002. Present were Arthur C. Korn, Mike Beverage and William Robertson.
MWDOC was represented by Brett Barbre and Stan Sprague.
The Committee discussed the proposed Metropolitan Water District rate structure. MWDOC
representatives discussed three options MWDOC is considering to pass through Metropolitan's
proposed rates: A straight pass through, a melded rate of MWDOC's agencies, or MWDOC's
own tiered program. Preliminary data indicates that MWDOC's melded rate option may offer
the greatest flexibility at a reasonable cost. MWDOC was asked to provide additional
information so the YLWD staff can analyze the options in more detail. MWDOC will act on this
item in March or April.
