A meeting of the Yorba Linda Water District-Municipal Water District of Orange County Ad Hoc
Committee was called to order by Committee Chair William R. Mills at 4:00 p.m. The meeting
was held at the District Headquarters, 4622 Plumosa Drive, Yorba Linda.

DISCUSSION ITEMS
1. MWDOC Rate Structure
a) Tier 1/Tier 2 versus melded
b) Potential subsidy for local projects during Tier 2
Kevin Hunt reported on the status of the tiered water rates versus melded rates
being considered by all member agencies. Mr. Hunt provided detailed spread
sheets of all of the agencies. The Committee asked a number of questions about
the pros and cons of the different rate plans. Mr. Payne requested MWDOC to
make a presentation to the YLWD Board in November.
2. Central Pool Augmentation Alignment
Kevin Hunt presented the Committee with an update on the Central Pool
Augmentation Alignment. The various agencies are looking at alternatives routes.
The latest alignment being considered is through the Santa Ana Canyon paralleling
the Riverside freeway. This route is good for YLWD but not the best for the other
water agencies in the county.
3. Orange County Cross Feeder
Kevin Hunt gave a brief report on the Orange County Cross Feeder and some of the
different alignments being reviewed. Mr. Hunt stated he would send a map and
correspondence to YLWD for our files.
