SUBJECT: Summary Minutes of the OCWD ADHOC meeting
The Orange County Water District ADHOC Committee held a meeting on May 17, 2004.
Present were OCWD Board member Larry Kraemer, OCWD General Manager Virginia
Grebbien, OCWD Assistant General Manager John Kennedy. Yorba Linda Water District Board
President William R. Mills, Vice President Michael J. Beverage, General Manager Michael .A.
Payne and Assistant General Manager Ken Vecchiarelli. The following items were discussed:
OCWD Budget: Virginia Grebbien summarized the different aspects of the OCWD
Budget proposed by OCWD staff. Because the OCWD Board increased the
Replenishment Assessment substantially, the Committee asked many questions about
reducing several areas of their proposed budget to offset the higher than anticipated RA.
2. Well No. 10 Financing. The Committee discussed paying off the loan with OCWD on
the Well No. 10 construction. Due to the current interest rates, this would provide a
savings to the District.
Water Rights Issues: The Committee discussed key points about the District's request to
have OCWD honor their commitment to an agreement between OCWD and Ernest
Bryant. General Manager Payne provided a letter to Virginia Grebbien which addressed
the issues raised in her letter.
