A R i ooz SUBJECT: Summary Minutes of the Planning-Engineering-Operations Committee Meeting The Planning-Engineering-Operations Committee held a meeting on April 3, 2002. Present were John Summerfield, Michael Beverage, Michael Payne, Ken Vecchiamlli, Lee Cory, and Ray Hahn. The following items were discussed: 1. Richfield Plant Renovation. Mr. Hahn presented an update of the construction progress at the Richfield Operations and Maintenance Yard. Mr. Hahn also reviewed the change orders pending approval for this project. A report including action for the Board's consideration on this matter is included in the Agenda for April 11, 2002. 2. Project Updates. Mr. Hahn presented a summary of the construction progress of the new well at the Richfield wellfield. Mr. Hahn addressed questions from the committee members and left following this discussion. Mr. Vecchiarelli summarized the status of several projects. Staff is currently reviewing design proposals for the Reservoir Nitrification Prevention and Control Study. Engineering proposals for two other projects are expected in on April 8, 2002. Staff will present reports to the full board at a later date with recommendations for awards of consultant agreements for these projects. 3. Pulte's Yorba Linda Heights Project. Mr. Vecchiarelli discussed a proposal to serve a portion of Pulte's project with water from the District's existing Zone 4 system while Pulte's reservoir and booster station are under construction. A discussion followed. Staff will review this matter further and take a recommendation back to Committee and to the full Board of Directors for consideration at a later date. 4. Other. Director Beverage inquired about the status of the District's property at the OC-51 connection to MWD's Lower Feeder. Director Summerfield briefed the Committee on a meeting held with Mr. Vecchiarelli and Senior Project Engineer, Nem Ochoa regarding questions on the GIS Implementation Plan. A follow-up meeting was scheduled to continue the discussions on this matter. Mr. Payne, Mr. Vecchiarelli and Mr. Cory briefed the Committee on two separate operations and maintenance incidents that occurred on Tuesday April 2, 2002 involving a chlorination problem at one location and a main break at another location.
