Summary minutes of Public Information Committee meeting
The Public Information Committee met on May 17, 2004. Directors Paul R. Armstrong and
Arthur C. Korn, General Manager Michael Payne and Public Information Officer Mike Robinson
were present. Assistant General Manager/Engineering Manager Ken Vecchiarelli and Customer
Service Supervisor Stacy Bavol joined the meeting for item number 6.
The following items were presented:
1. West Nile Virus message. The committee discussed the inclusion of a message from the
Orange County Vector Control District regarding prevention of the spread of West Nile
Virus in the District's water bills.
2. Funding request from Water Education Foundation. The committee discussed a request for
a $1,000 contribution for the support of the foundation's programs.
3. Zone 2 Transmission Pipeline project. The Committee discussed plans for public outreach
to customers who will be affected by the Zone 2 Pipeline project.
4. District Vehicles. The committee discussed adding additional information and more
distinctive lettering to the District's service vehicles.
5. Poster/Slogan Contest Winner. The committee discussed honoring a Heritage Oak School
student and teacher for their honorable mention in MWDOC's competition.

6. Valve Replacement in Yorba Linda Boulevard. The committee reviewed the public
notification efforts related to this recent project,-and discussed future efforts of notifying
the public during major repair/construction projects.
