Summary minutes of Public Information Committee meeting
The Public Information Committee met on January 14, 2003. Directors Paul Armstrong and Mike
Beverage, General Manager Bill Robertson, Assistant General Manager Michael Payne, Public
Information Officer Mike Robinson, Network Administrator Art Vega, Engineering Manager Ken
Vecchiarelli, Jim Sattler and Ryan Keith representing Toll Brothers, and Patti Nahill representing
Pulte Homes were present.
The following items were discussed:
1. Temnorarv tank aesthetics. The committee discussed aesthetic values for the two temporary
steel water reservoirs to be constructed in the Vista Del Verde development.
2. Web site. The committee discussed improvements to the District's internet web site. New
features are now "on line" and available to the public.
3. Water Lines Newsletter. The committee reviewed the text of the next edition of the customer
newsletter.
4. Water bottles. The committee discussed a new design for these popular items that are made
available to the public at special events and at the District office.
5. Water Awareness Activities. The committee discussed the date and plans for the Richfield
Plant Open House to be held in conjunction with other similar events throughout the county.
6. District shirts. hats. etc. The committee discussed the provision of such items to District
employees
7. Other. The committee was informed that Metropolitan Water District is continuing it's policy
of not allowing public tours of it's facilities due to security concerns. Director Beverage
suggested the possibility of the District providing bottled water to the public.
