SUBJECT: Summary minutes of Public Information Committee meeting
The Public Information Committee met on April 3, 2003. Directors Paul Armstrong and Mike
Beverage, General Manager Bill Robertson, Assistant General Manager Michael Payne and Public
Information Officer Mike Robinson were present.
The following items were presented:
1. Richfield Plant Dedication. The committee discussed the dedication ceremony to open the
newly remodeled facility. The event is scheduled for Friday afternoon, May 2, in conjunction
with Water Awareness Month.
2. Richfield Plant Oren House. The committee discussed the organization of this event for the
general public to be held on Saturday morning, May 3, in conjunction with Water Awareness
Month.
3. Bottled Water. The committee discussed a proposal of the District providing bottled water.
The committee clarified that the envisioned enterprise activity is something like water vending
machines and/or selling bottled water as a convenience to District customers - without the need
to subsidize the water rate with any profits obtained. In addition, the committee indicated that
questions about the District providing bottled water could be included in a possible future
customer survey.
