MINUTES OF THE
YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT
BUILDING AD HOC COMMITTEE MEETING
November 15, 2007
A meeting of the Building Ad Hoc Committee was called to order by Committee Chair John W.
Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the Richfield Plant located at 913 S.
Richfield Road, Placentia. There were no public visitors at this meeting.
DIRECTORS PRESENT: STAFF PRESENT:
Director John W. Summerfield, Chair Kenneth Vecchiarelli, Asst. General Manager
Director Michael J. Beverage Hank Samaripa, Project Engineer
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
1. Project Status. Mr. Samaripa presented an update of the construction progress and led a
discussion regarding the details of the building entry, appearance and security issues.
The Committee members visited the construction site and were led on a walk-through of
the building interior. During this tour, the Committee discussed details of the Boardroom
and public access areas. The Committee made several suggestions to staff including
continuing the wrought iron fencing without the low block wall and block pilasters into the
site for security purposes and not to pursue an expensive audio visual system for the
board and training rooms at this time.
2. Initial Knoll Furniture Proposal. Following the building tour, the Committee reviewed the
proposal for furniture (approximately $800,000) and noted that it fell close to the middle of
the range estimated in the budget which was between $500,000 and $1 M. The Committee
recommended staff prepare a budget status report update for the project to include current
projections for total cost of construction.
3. Plumosa Property Disposition. The Committee briefly discussed the timing issues and
scope for an appraisal of the Plumosa property.
INFORMATION ITEMS:
4. Miraloma Storm Drain completed. The storm drain project is completed and the on site
drains will be connected to this new system.
5. Edison Power Poles Relocated. Three new poles have been set by Southern California
Edison and there power lines have been relocated. Anaheim Power is scheduled to
relocate their power lines later this month.
6. Miraloma/Richfield Street Improvements-Scheduled to start January 2, 2008.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Committee adjourned at 5:30 p.m. The next Building Ad Hoc Committee meeting is
scheduled for December 20, 2007.
