The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda Water District was
called to order by President Cromwell at 8:30 a,m., Thursday, September 24, 1987 in the
District offices at 4622 Plumosa Drive, Yorba Linda. Directors present: Whit Cromwell, M.
Roy Knauft, Sterling Fox. Also present were ralph Shook, General Manager, Arthur Korn,
Assistant General Manager, Bill Robertson, Executive Assistant to the General Manager, Mike
Payne, Engineering Manager, Mike Robinson, Assistant Administrator 11, and Cheryl Gunderson
from Conrad and Associates.
Motion by Director Fox and seconded by Director Knauft to approve the consent calendar as
follows: The minutes as corrected of September 4, and the minutes of 10, 1 1, and 14, 1987 as
submitted. Authorization for the Directors to leave the State of California prior to the next
meeting, and a routine application: the sewer connection application and permit (SS =23-202)
in the amount of $2,237.03 for Lucille P, Nelson, 18850 Via Sereno. Motion cameo
unanimously.
Motion by Director Fox and seconded by Director Knauft and carried unanimously to authorize
reallocation of budgeted resources to purchase backhoe, dumptruck and trailer.
Director Knauft reported on a meeting with representatives of the City of Yorba Linda
concerning the new Community Facilities District.
Motion by Director Fox and seconded by Director Knauft and carried unanimously to approve
payment of bills and rate deposits in the amount of $ 135,226.94 on checks No, 12984, 13104
through 13188.
Bill Robertson reported on the progress in finding another agency with which to share a radio
frequency. The City of Montebello is willing to share with the District in the "spirit of
cooperation".
Mike Robinson reported on the Information Booth sponsored by MWDOC and planned for the Brea
Mall during "Water Awareness Week". The District has committed to staffing the booth on
Thursday, October 22 from 4 to 8 p.m. Director Knauft agreed to man the booth from 4 to 5
p.m., Director Fox from 5 to 6 p.m., and Director Cromwell from 6 to 8 p.m.
Arthur Korn reported that OCWD has "Lawn Watering Guides" available, and that the District
should obtain some for evaluation by staff.
A motion by Director Knauft and seconded by Director Fox to adjourn. Motion carried
unanimously, The meeting was adjourned at 9:02 a.m.
