I' SUBJECT: Summary minutes of Public Information Committee meeting
The Public Information Committee met on January 21, 1994. Directors Mike Beverage, Paul
' Armstrong, General Manager Bill Robertson and Public Information Officer Mike Robinson were
present. The following issues were discussed:
' 1. District Facilities Tour: The Committee reviewed plans for the upcoming tour on
Saturday, February 12th.
' 2. Well 10 Dedication: The Committee discussed a dedication ceremony for the refurbished
Well 10 located at the Richfield Plant. This event will be held at the end of the Board of
Directors meeting on February 24th.
' 3. Water Quality Report: The Committee reviewed the schedule for publication of this
annual report that is due April l st.
' 4. Waterlines Newsletter: The Committee discussed subject matter for the upcoming
Winter 1994 edition of the customer newsletter.
t S. Guest Editorials: The Committee discussed providing editorials on water related issues
to the Yorba Linda Star on a regular basis.
6. Groundwater Protection Program: The Committee discussed this program that
' includes visiting the industrial and commercial neighbors of the Richfield Plant to distribute
information on the safe handling of substances that are potentially harmful to groundwater.
' 7. Student / Scout Tours: The Committee reviewed this ongoing program of presenting
tours of District facilities for school, Brownie and Cub Scout groups.
8. Water Conservation Conference: The Committee discussed expanding the District's
xeriscape program to include other home water saving methods.
9. Water Awareness Month Activities: The Committee discussed the District's
' participation in a "5 K Run" to be held at Anaheim Lake on May 1st.
