i' SUBJECT: Summary Minutes of the Planning-Engineering-Operations Committee Meeting
' The Planning-Engineering-Operations Committee held a meeting on March 3, 1994. Present were
Paul Armstrong, Sterling Fox, William Robertson, Mike Payne, Ray Harsma, Chuck Gray and
Bob Seeman representing Barrett Consulting Group. The following items were discussed by the
' committee.
1. AMP Buyout. William Robertson, General Manager and Bob Seeman presented a report
' on the status of the Barrett Consulting Groups study of issues related to the buyout of the
AMP Pipeline. Items reviewed were the operation of the AMP under various conditions and
their impact on the District's hydraulic gradient and options to guarantee the hydraulic
gradient. The committee asked several questions and offered advice to staff. This matter
' will be discussed at the March 10, 1994 Board of Directors meeting.
2. Lakeview Avenue Bridge Pipeline. Chuck Gray, Engineering Manager, presented a
' staff report on the status of the construction of the District's 12 inch pipeline within the
Lakeview Avenue Bridge. The City of Yorba Linda's bridge contractor is having difficulty
constructing the District's pipeline due to a very tight utility corridor and the placement of
telephone conduits by another contractor. The City and the District are reviewing options to
mitigate the problem. The committee asked several questions and offered advice to staff.
3. Future Water Quality Regulations. Chuck Gray, Engineering Manager, presented a
t staff report on future water quality regulations and their impact on the operation of the
District's water wells. The committee asked several questions and offered advice to staff.
' 4. Well Waste Water Discharge Piping System. Chuck Gray, Engineering Manager,
presented a staff report on the need for a well waste water discharge piping system. Water
quality regulations and district operating procedures are necessitating the need to design and
construct a well waste water discharge piping system. This system will allow pumping the
wells to waste while waiting for test results. The committee asked several questions and
offered advice to staff. This matter will be presented for action at the March 10, 1994 Board
of Directors meeting.
