SUBJECT: Summary minutes of Public Information Committee meeting
' The Public Information Committee met on March 18, 1994. Directors Mike Beverage, Paul
Armstrong, General Manager Bill Robertson and Public Information Officer Mike Robinson were
' present. The following issues were discussed:
1 . Discussion of Agreement with the City of Yorba Linda regarding conjunctive
use of the Yorba Linda Water District's Elk Mountain Reservoir site. Assistant
' General Manager Mike Payne reported on the status of negotiations between the District and
City of Yorba Linda on a possible recreational use of the reservoir site. Development of a
youth sports practice facility is being considered.
' 2. Statue report on Water Awareness Month activities. Public Information Officer
Mike Robinson reported that May is national Water Awareness Month. The major activity in
' Orange County will be a "Walk for Water" 5 K fun run/walk to be held on May 1st at
Anaheim Lake. Yorba Linda Water District will provide water to the participants at a water
station and staff a District information booth.
' 3. Review draft 1993 Water Quality Report. Public Information Officer Mike
Robinson presented a draft of the report. The Committee reviewed the report and offered
suggestions.
' 4. Discussion of Public Information Consultant scope of work, sots, timing and
selection process. Executive Assistant to the General Manager Roger Lubin reported on
the status of the search for a consultant to undertake special public information projects.
