HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-12-14 - Board of Directors Meeting MinutesDecember 14, 1966 538 A regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda County Water District was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by President Wagner at the office of the District on December 14, 1966. Directors present and answering the rollcall: Clodt, McGuire, Hastings, Knauft and Wagner, Also present H. Rodger Howell attorney for the District. Don Watson, reporter from the Daily News Tribune of Fullerton was at the meeting. Minutes of the November 9th, 16th and 30th meetings were approved as mailed on a motion made by Director Hastings, seconded by Director C lodt , carried unanimously. . Mr. Korn presented Job 471 for Board action. Pursuant to the rules and regulations the application and exhibits were examined. It was moved by Director Hastings seconded by Director McGuire and carried that the application for water service be approved as per staff re- commendations. Mr. Howard Deitrich had requested water service for the Valenzuela property on Prospect Avenue in the Carlton Townsite. This property is within the District boundaries but never had water stock under the Mutual. Staff recommended that the property be assessed the $170.00 per lot as set up in the Rules and Regulations addendum Sec. 3.1-C-lA plus the cost of a one inch meter, k9weuer if water service is requested for the property where the Valenzuela house starts but which does not belong to Valenzuela. If service is re- quested for the Valenzuela property , which is not located along the water main but up the street, a main extension would be required. Moved by Director McGuire, seconded by Director Hastings, carried unanimously to proceed with the staff recommendations with a letter explaining that the water service would not be to the Valenzuela property as such and that additional cost would be involvedifservice is requested for the Valenzuela property at some future date. Peter Falkins appeared before the meeting on behalf of the Committee on Good Government. He requested that the Board take under con- sideration contributing to the fund being raised to aid in the legal battle for incorporation. Board were of the opinion this would be taking sides in a matter that would not directly benefit the District and inasmuch as the District also includes portion of Placentia and Anaheim this further complicated affairs and all agreed to take the matter under consideration but no action taken at this time. two Three assignments were presented for Board approval, the first/ from Project Development Co. Inc., to Brookwood Land Company for Jobs S-3365 S-3765 S-254 and S-311, S-245 S-128, and S-155 and the t_=h-ijr_ _ ' from Brookwood Land to Bank of America for Jobs No. S-24, S-1285 S-155, S-2543 S-3365 S-376 and S-379. Moved by Director Hastings seconded by Director McGuire to approve thethreeassignments carried unanimously. (3) 539 December 145 1966 continued Moved by Director McGuire, seconded by Director Hastings and carried unanimously to charge the customary fee for the Assignments on S-24, S-1285 S-3365 S-376, S-254 and S-155 inasmuch as they were all second assignments. H. Rodger Howeii presented a draft of a ResoiuLion that he and the staff had worked out which proposed to set up a method to aid the rest of the District in obtaining sewers- discussion, tabled for. a decision at the next meeting.. General Manager Snook stated that the Badger MeteL Contract would expire at the end of December buL Luat the District had a sufficient supply of meters on hand. He recommendea tnat no action be taken at this time. Moved by Director McGuire, seconded by Director Hastings carried unanimously to approve the auaited deposits and bills against the District in the amount of $voi.90 and $2y,/68.J2 respectively, on checks numbered 9209 through 9331. General Manager Sho.oK presented a typical ad for the paper, asking the Board their opinion of such an advertising campaign by way of the newspaper and the schools. Discussion no action. Movea Dy Director Clodt seconded by Director McGuire carried un- animously that all Directors have permission to i.eave the State for either business or personal reasons between this meeting and the next regular meeting of the Board. The District ottice had been called concerning tags which has been placed on doors or were mailed which asked the occupant to calf re- garaing their water service ana then a listing of several telephone numbers with no indication or the name of the company putting out the notices. Everyones first reaction was that it was from the District. Rodger Howett said he would call and suggest that the company concerned change the wording and the manner of advertising.
