A special meeting:of the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda
County Water District was called to order at tke office of the
District on April 5? 1961 at the hour of 8:30 M. by President Crist.
The meeting was convened for the purpose of receiving and opening
the bids for Plant,1 (specifications 2 M and 3W) and to transact
any other necessary business.
All Directors were present and.answered the roll. Also present
were Attorney Rodger Howell, Mr. George Kaybof James Montgomery
and Muriel Ithers of Daily-Construction Service and Fran. Tracy
of the Green Sheet and representatives of most of the bidding
firms.
Bids were opened from the following firms:

A motion was made by Directors Hastings and seconded by Director
Milmoe that the bids be referred to the General Manager, the attorney
and the Consulting Engineers for the checking of Surety Bonds,
totals and evaluation before any declaration of award by the District
Board. The roll was called and the following vote was recorded:
Mr. Clodt - yes, Mr. Milmoe -yes, Mr. Wagner - yes, Mr. Hastingst yes

and Mr. Grist yes.
General Manager Dueker reported that additional pressure had been
turned into approximately 14 miles of low pressure mains on
March 29th. Several main breaks resulted and a discussion was.
held concerning the installation of additional valves in the
system. It was agreed that there should be additional valves
installed at the discretion of the General Manager.
Attorney Howell reported that the San Bernardino Valley Municipal
Water District and others had filed an application to appropriate
40,000 acre feet of affluent from their sewage treatment plants.
A motion was made by Director Hastings, seconded by Director
Milmoe and unanimously carried that Attorney Howell be authorized
to file a formal protest for the District against the application.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned on a
motion made by Director Clodt, seconded by Director Milmoe and
duly carried.
