MINUTES OF THE
YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT
PERSONNEL-RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
May 7, 2010
A meeting of the Personnel-Risk Management Committee was called to order by
Director Collett at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District's Administrative Office
at 1717 E Miraloma Ave, Placentia CA 92870.

1. PUBLIC COMMENTS
None.
2. ACTION CALENDAR
2.1. Damage Claim Filed by Residents of Vallecito Lane
The Committee discussed the claim filed by Residents of Vallecito Lane.
The residents allege that a water main break on Ohio Street caused
additional damages to their private road. The Committee will recommend
to the Board of Directors to reject the claim at the May 27, 2010 Board
Meeting.
2.2. Revision of the District's Personnel Rules
The Committee discussed the revision of the District's Personnel Rules
and will recommend to the Board of Directors to adopt Resolution 10-09
approving the revised Personnel Rules at the May 27, 2010 Board
Meeting.
3. DISCUSSION ITEMS
3.1. District's Organization Chart
The Committee reviewed the latest version of the District's Organization
Chart, which will be included in the FY 2010/11 Draft Budget document.
Mr. Vecchiarelli and Ms. Knight noted the revisions and changes shown
for the first time on this version of the chart reflecting minor organizational
changes.
3.2. Status of Recruitments and Authorized/Budgeted Positions
Staff presented an update on the District's current recruitment: Sr.
Accountant position which will become vacant as the current Sr.
Accountant gave notice of intent to retire in August and will utilize existing
unused vacation leave starting in early June until she retires.

3.3. Status of Risk Management Activities
Staff discussed one of the Tort claims with a recommendation to the
Board of Directors to reject the claim. Staff gave an update on the HR
Department's current activities that included several training workshops for
the management team as well as for the District's employees and open to
other ACWA members.
3.4. Future Agenda Items and Staff Tasks
None.
4. ADJOURNMENT
4.1. The Committee adjourned at 4:30 p.m. The next regular meeting of the
Personnel-Risk Management Committee will be held June 4, 2010 at 4:00
p.m.
