HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-10-11 - Resolution No. 73-29RESOLUTION NO. 73-29 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE YORBA LINDA COUNTY WATER DISTRICT AMENDING RULE NO. 16 OF THE YORBA LINDA COUNTY DISTRICT PERSONNEL MANUEL WHEREAS, Resolution No. 160 was adopted August 23, 1967 setting forth the personnel policy of the District, and WHEREAS, it is necessary from time to time to ammend and update the policy; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS of the YORBA LINDA COUNTY WATER DISTRICT that Rule No. 16 be amended as follows: RULE 16. VACATION SECTION 16.0 - Employees in the classified service shall receive annual vacation with pay in accordance with the following provisions: 16.010-Regular, full-time employees with an average regular work week of forty (40) hours shall accrue paid vacation at the following rate per year, or fraction thereof: After 1 years service - 80 hours or 10 days After 5 years service - 88 hours or 11 days After 10 years service-103 hours or 13 days After 15 years service-120 hours or 15 days After 20 years service-160 hours or 20 days 16.011 Regular, part-time employees with an average regular work week of at least twenty (20) hours, but less than thirty (30) hours shall accrue paid vacation at the following rate per year, or fraction thereof: After 1 years service - 40 hours or 5 days After 5 years service - 44 hours or 5 2 days After 10 years service- 51 2 hours or 6 2 days After 15 years service- 60 hours or 7 2 days After 20 years service- 80 hours or 10 days 16.012 Regular, part-time employees with an average regular work week of at least thirty (30) hours, but less than forty (40) hours shall accrue paid vacation at the following rate per year, or fraction thereof; After 1 years service - 60 hours or 7 2 days After 5 years service - 66 hours or 8 2 days After 10 years service-:77 hours or 9 3/4 days After 15 years service- 90 hours or 11 2 days After 20 years service-120 hours or 15 days 16.02 For vacation accrual the 31st day of December shall be considered the ending of the accrual year and all accruals for the preceding 12 months or fraction of a year thereof shall be credited to the employee at this time. Vacations accrued prior to December 31 of any year may not be taken until after January 1 of the following year except by a waiver of this rule by the General Manager. 16.03 Paid vacations shall continue to accrue in accordance with the above provisions during any period of leave with pay. SECTION 16.1 - All vacations shall be scheduled and taken in accordance with the best interest of the District and the department or division in which the employee is employed. SECTION 16.2 - The maximum amount of vacation that may be taken at any given time shall be that amount that has accrued to the employee concerned. The minimum amount of vacation that may be taken at any given time shall be four hours. SECTION 16.3 - A permanent full time employee shall be eligible to take any accrued vacation after the first day of January of the year follow- ing his employment. SECTION }f.4 - Each employee shall have one (1) hour deducted from his accrues( vacation time for each hour of vacation taken. An employee with a regular work day of eight (8) hours shall have eight (8) hours deducted from his accrued vacation time for each day of vacation taken. SECTION 16.5 -Vacation which is accrued, but not taken will be forfeited except with written permission from and at the discretion of the General Manager to accumulate it. The maximum that may be accumulated shall not be more than one half (3~) years accrual. The General Manager Secretary and Auditor are exempt from this sectionof this rule. SECTION 16.6 - Upon termination, an employee shall be compensated in cash at his current rate of pay for any vacation accrued but not taken, provided that he has successfully completed his probationary period. SECTION 16.7- In the event that any recognized holiday occurs during any employee's vacation, with the exception of employees in the job classes listed in Section 15.3, the holiday shall not be charged against the employee's accrued vacation. The only vacation hours that shall be charged against any employee's accrued vacation shall be those hours that that the employee is regularly scheduled to work. SECTION 16.8 - No employee may draw accrued vacation until his probationary employment period has been satisfactorily completed; see Rule 9. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the effective date of the Revision be October 11, 1973.
