HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-07-12 - Personnel-Risk Management Committee Meeting Minutes MINUTES OF THE YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT PERSONNEL-RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING July 12, 2011 A meeting of the Personnel-Risk Management Committee was called to order by Director Kiley at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District's Administrative Office at 1717 E Miraloma Ave, Placentia CA 92870. COMMITTEE STAFF Director Robert R. Kiley, Chair Gina Knight, Human Resources Mgr Director Michael J. Beverage Steve Conklin, Engineering Manager 1. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. 2. DISCUSSION ITEMS 2.1. Status Report on Committee Specific Strategic Plan Initiatives Staff provided a summary of the activities related to Workforce Engagement initiatives and goals establish and identified in the District's 2011-2013 Strategic Plan. Staff informed the Committee members that demographic data was collected and analyzed of the District's current workforce. In addition, HR staff developed a questionnaire that will be provided to District personnel to determine what competencies, skills, education and/or certification is required for determined key positions. 2.2. Status of Recruitments and Budgeted Positions The Committee reviewed the staff report and spreadsheet. Staff gave an update on the status of the Maintenance Worker I recruitment. Interviews for this recruitment are scheduled for July 27, 2011. 2.3. Status of Human Resources and Risk Management Activities The Committee reviewed and discussed the updated activities log. Staff discussed a vehicle accident that occurred earlier that same afternoon involving a District dump truck. Staff updated the Committee members on the resolution of two (2) recently submitted tort claims. Finally, staff reported on the status of several personnel related investigations and the allegations associated with those investigations. In addition, staff informed the Committee about Human Resources' process when conducting an administrative investigation and how disciplinary actions are recommended and implemented. 2.4. Future Agenda Items and Staff Tasks None. 1 3. ADJOURNMENT 3.1.
