HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-07-10 - Resolution No. 75-090 0 RESOLUTION NO. 75-9 WHEREAS, two-thirds of Orange County's water must be imported from sources hundreds of miles away; and WHEREAS, such importation requires tremendous amounts of energy; and WHEREAS, the problems of water supply are many, and growing more complex, especially as energy problems continue; and WHEREAS, the Yorba Linda County Water District's well-being depends on the cooperative efforts of thousands of people, working on projects from the local level to the Colorado River Aqueduct and the State Water Project; and WHEREAS, the ever-increasing problems of pollution require greater efforts to improve water quality and provide essential safeguards of public health and welfare; and WHEREAS, with increasing population and urbanization, additional reservoirs, pipelines, and other facilities may be needed; and WHEREAS, the planning, construction, and operation of complex modern water facilities require ever-increasing numbers of highly trained engineers, technicians, operators, and other personnel; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda County Water District declares August 10 through 17 "Better Water For Yorba Linda County Water District Week", and pledges its continued effort to maintain adequate supplies of water, and urges all citizens to assist in this effort by paying close attention to their own use of water, and by seeking to avoid the waste of this essential commodity.
