RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE YORBA LINDA COUNTY WATER
ESTABLISHING THE POSITION AND SALARY RANGE FOR ENGINEERING MANAGER
WHEREAS, it is necessary from time to time to review classifications
in the current salary resolution, and
WHEREAS, due to an increased work load in engineering,
NOW, THEREFORE IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED that the following position
be created and made a part of the salary resolution No. 78-42 of
the District.
POSITION SALARY RANGE PER MONTH
ENGINEERING MANAGER
$1350-$1640
Passed and adopted this 9th day of November 1978 by the following

ENGINEERING MANAGER
Under the direction of the General Manager, Assistant General Manager
(and Project Manager), plans directs, supervises and coordinates the
activities of the engineering department, including design and drafting
personnel, inspection services, contract technical services and inter-
agency laison activities.
Typical examples of responsibilities:
1. Supervises the preparation of designs, plans, specifications and
cost estimates for both water distribution and sanitary sewer projects.
2. Prepares documentation of and applications for water and sanitary
sewer services submitted for approval of Board of Directors.
3. Directs field inspection activities related to the construction or
modification of water and sewer facilities.
4. Supervises preparation of plat sheets for water and sanitary sewer
derived from as built and other information.
5. Responsible for all record keeping related to engineering department
activities.
6. Responsible for personnel activities, training, production and employee
relations within engineering department.
7. Coordinates engineering department activities with other District
field activities and departments.
8. Responsible for inter-agency laison related to all engineering department
activities
9. Maintains liason with developers and contractors in order to coordinate
activities.
10. Coordinates with and provides data to auditing department, when necessary,
and aids in preparation of operational budget for engineering department.

11. Examines plans and maps submitted by other utilities, companies
and agencies.
