HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988-06-30 - Resolution No. 88-301 • RESOLUTION NO. 88-30 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT AMENDING SECTIONS OF THE PERSONNEL RULES WHEREAS, on May 8, 1980 by adoption of Resolution No. 80-11, the Hoard of Directors of the Yorba Linda Water District established Personnel Rules of the District, and WHEREAS, the Personnel Rules provide in Section 1.4.2 that the rules may be amended from time to time by the Board, and WHEREAS. the Board has subsequently amended the rules and desires to further amend the rules. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda Water District as follows: SecWn 1: That Section 3.3.3 shall be added to the Personnel Rules to read as follows: 3.3.3 The General Manager shall appoint an employee to serve in a position on a temporary "acting appointment' basis. The employee shall be paid at the nearest, higher step in the the salary range of the position after 30 days of satisfactory job performance. The employee shall return to his original position and salary step at the discretion of the General Manager. The term of an "acting appointment" shall last not longer than one year. Section That Section 8.2.3 be amended to read as follows: 823. An employee may be employed in a part-time capacity at the discretion of the General Manager. A part-time employee is defined as a person who shall work not more than 30 hours per week on a regular basis. Section S: That Section 9.2.11 be added to the rules to read as follows: 9.2.11 All vacation requests shall be approved or disapproved by an employee's Department Manager. Section 4: Present Section 9.6.1. shall be deleted. Section 9.6.2 shall be renumbered 9.6.1; Section 9.6.3 shall be renumbered 9.6.2; Section 9.6.4 shall be renumbered 9.6.3; and Section 9.6.5 shall be renumbered 9.6.4 0 0 Sectm 5: Section 9.8 shall be added to the rules to read as follows: U Upon the death of a member of the employee's immediate family an employee shall be entitled to use up to three (3) days of District paid bereavement leave for the attendance at funeral services and conduct of business associated the the deceased. Immediate family shall include spouse, child, brother, sister, parent, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, stepparent, stepbrother, stepsister, stepchild, or any other relative living in the same household. The General Manager, at his sole discretion, may allow the employee to use up to an additional four (4) days of sick leave for this purpose.
