RESOLUTION NO. 90-38
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT
STATING COMMITMENT TO PLACE SPECIFIED SAVINGS
FROM SEASONAL STORAGE SERVICE AND INTERRUPTIBLE SERVICE
INTO A SPECIAL ACCOUNT
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and the Municipal
Water District of Orange County have adopted water rates, effective July
1, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the water rates for Seasonal Storage Service and for Interruptible
Service include a provision for a reduction in the rate by five dollars per
acre foot under the condition that the savings be placed into a special
account to be used to store or conserve water; and
WHEREAS, the State Legislative Analyst estimates the initial cost to California
taxpayers at $3 billion while the state is currently facing a $3.6 billion
deficit; and
WHEREAS, this Yorba Linda Water District desires to participate in programs to store
or conserve water under the conditions specified by the Metropolitan
Water District and the Municipal Water District of Orange County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Yorba
Linda Water District hereby states its commitment to place the savings which may
accrue, from the five dollar reduction in rate of Seasonal Storage Service and
Interruptible Service, into a special account to be used for programs to store or
conserve water that will be available to meet domestic and municipal demands.
