Summary Minutes of the Planning- Engineering- Operations Committee Meeting
The Planning- Engineering- Operations Committee held a meeting on September 15, 1999.
Directors Paul Armstrong and Brett Barbre, Assistant General Manager Mike Payne and
Engineering Manager Ken Vecchiarelli were present. The committee discussed the following
items.
1. Shell -Toll Reservoirs. Mr. Vecchiarelli reported that Toll Brothers, Inc. solicited and
received bids from qualified contractors for construction of the reservoirs, booster station,
flow control facility and transmission pipeline from OC -51 serving the Shell -Toll
Development project. Discussion continued regarding the developer's timing issues.
Staff reported that the Facilities Finance, Design, and Construction Agreement has been
drafted and a series of meetings with the developer will occur over the next two weeks to
finalize this agreement. Staff will present the agreement for Board of Directors
consideration at a future date.
2. Information Items. Director Armstrong inquired about the status of the sewer extension
project on Yorba Linda Boulevard. Mr. Vecchiarelli informed the Committee that bids
were received on materials for the Well No. 11 rehabilitation project. Staff and ASL
Consulting Engineers will analyze the bids and recommend action for Board approval at a
later a date. Mr. Payne informed the Committee that the City of Anaheim Police
Department has initiated discussions regarding the possibility of installing radio
equipment at one of the District's reservoir sites. Staff will pursue mutual agreements that
will benefit both the District and the City.
3. Other. No other issues were discussed.
