CALL TO ORDER The July 9, 2013 meeting of the Yorba Linda Water District’s Personnel-Risk Management Committee was called to order by Director Collett at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held in the Admin Conference Room at the District’s Administration Building located at 1717 East Miraloma Avenue in Placentia, California 92870. 2. ROLL CALL COMMITTEE STAFF Director Ric Collett, Chair Steve Conklin, Acting General Manager Director Michael J. Beverage Gina Knight, HR and Risk Manager 3. PUBLIC COMMENTS None. 4. DISCUSSION ITEMS 4.1. Human Resources, Risk Management, and Safety Activity Staff reported that Peter Kuchinsky from ACWA/JPIA conducted three training sessions on-site on June 18, 2013. The training included two sessions of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) and one session of Accident Investigation. The recruitment for the Safety and Training Coordinator position commenced on June 19, 2013 and will close on July 10, 2013. The District held an employee picnic at Yorba Regional Park on June 29, 2013. Eighty-two people, including employees and their family members attended the event. 4.2. Status of Performance Evaluations (Verbal Report) Staff advised the Committee members on the status of existing past-due performance evaluations. It was noted that management staff is making an effort to conduct timely performance evaluations. 4.3. Status of Assessment of Job Descriptions and Titles (Verbal Report) Staff reported that a draft job description for a Water Production Superintendent had been completed. The following positions still need job descriptions: Human Resources File Clerk, Construction Project Supervisor and Project Coordinator, as these positions are new classifications. 2 4.4. Status of General Manager Recruitment (Verbal Report) Staff informed the Committee that the recruitment for the General Manager position would commence on July 22, 2013 and close on August 19, 2013. 4.5. Future Agenda Items and Staff Tasks None. 5. ADJOURNMENT 5.1. The meeting was adjourned at 5:08 p.m. The next Personnel-Risk Management Committee meeting is scheduled to be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.
