RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT
ADOPTING THE NATIONAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
AS THE DISTRICT'S STANDARD FOR INCIDENT MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Homeland Security Directive 5, all public agencies are required
to establish the National Incident Management System (NIMS) as the
standard for incident management, and
WHEREAS, It is necessary and desirable that all federal, state and local agencies
coordinate their efforts to effectively and efficiently provide the highest levels
of incident management, and
WHEREAS, It is desirable that all public agencies utilize standardized terminology,
organization structures, communications, action plans, unified command
structures, uniform personnel qualifications standards, uniform standards for
planning and training, comprehensive resource management, and
designated incident facilities during emergencies or disasters, and
WHEREAS, NIMS standardized procedures will improve the District's ability to utilize
federal funding to enhance readiness, maintain first responder safety and
streamline incident management processes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Yorba Linda Water
District adopts Resolution 05-08 adopting the National Incident Management System as the
District's standard for incident management.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of September, 2005 by the following called vote:
AYES: Armstrong, Beverage, Mills
NOES: None
ABSENT: Collett, Summerfield
ABSTAIN: None
