The May 6, 2014 meeting of the Yorba Linda Water District's Personnel -Risk
Management Committee was called to order by Director Hawkins at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting was held in the Admin Conference Room at the District's
Administration Building located at 1717 East Miraloma Avenue in Placentia,
California 92870.

4.1. Revisions to District's Internship Policy
The Committee reviewed the policy. Questions were posed regarding
how many hours interns may work and budgeting for the positions.
4.2. Human Resources, Risk Management, and Safety Activity
Mr. Conklin presented information on the Water Quality Engineer position
vacated when the incumbent resigned.
4.3. Status of Assessment of Job Descriptions and Titles (Verbal Report)
Director Hawkins asked where the District is in the process and whether
the assessment will be completed in this fiscal year. The Professional
Services Agreement with Koff & Associates is in process.
4.4. Status of Performance Evaluations (Verbal Report)
There were questions about the process involved in presenting the
performance evaluations to the employees and how the employee is rated
if they are just meeting expectations for their position.

4.5. Status of Policies and Procedures (Verbal Report)
Steve Conklin presented the policies and procedures summary and status
table. Director Hawkins requested this item remain on the agenda.
Director Melton raised a question about paying for higher education for
employees. Director Hawkins asked that the education reimbursement
policy be brought back to the Committee.

5.1. The meeting was adjourned at 4:59 p.m. The next Personnel -Risk
Management Committee meeting is scheduled to be held Tuesday, June
10, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.
