HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-10-26 - Resolution No. 06-11RESOLUTION NO. 06-11 f 1 I RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT ADOPTING THE ORANGE COUNTY REGIONAL WATER AND WASTEWATER MULTI- HAZARD MITIGATION (HAZMIT) PLAN WHEREAS, the Yorba Linda Water District recognizes the natural and manmade hazards that can affect the Orange County water and wastewater community and due to the potential affects those disasters can have on its ability to provide services to its customers, and WHEREAS, the District provides retail water and sewer services to residents in most of the City of Yorba Linda, portions of the Cities of Placentia, Brea and Anaheim, and certain unincorporated areas of Orange County, and WHEREAS, the District's mission is to provide reliable, high quality water and sewer services in an environmentally responsible manner, and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of Yorba Linda Water District finds and determines as follows: Section 1. The District determines it is of benefit to participate in the Orange County Regional Water and Wastewater Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. Section 2. The District hereby declares that and Wastewater Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, by the State Office of Emergency Services Agency upon completion of their review. it adopts the Orange County Regional Water subject to incorporation of comments, if any, and the Federal Emergency Management Section 3. The District staff shall prepare a letter to the Water Emergency Response Organization of Orange County certifying adoption, substantially in the form of Exhibit A. Mills The Yorba Linda Water District recognizes the natural and manmade hazards that can affect the Orange County water and wastewater community. Yorba Linda Water District participated in the year long process with the I lazard Mitigation Working Group (staff representatives from the 20 agencies) to j identify critical infrastructure that is vulnerable to natural hazards. Base([ on the information developed both regional and individual agency goals, objectives and actions were prepared. The Pre-Draft Hazard Mitigation plan was advertised and shared with the public at three meetings. The final draft plan was presented to Yorba Linda Water District's Board of Directors for review and adoption as our official agency hazard mitigation plan. ft is recognized that this plan is adopted in coordination with Malicious Event Vulnerability Assessment and Emergency Response Plan. Staff will utilize both documents as a guideline for future hazard mitigation actions, projects and grant proposals.
