MINUTES OF THE
YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT
PUBLIC INFORMATION - TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE MEETING
November 6, 2007
A meeting of the Yorba Linda Water District Public Information-Technology
Committee was called to order by Committee Chair Ric Collett at 4:00 p.m. The
meeting was held at the District Administration Office at 4622 Plumosa Drive,
Yorba Linda.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: STAFF PRESENT:
Director Ric Collett, Chair Michael A. Payne, General Manager
Director Michael J. Beverage Gina Knight, Human Resources Mgr.
Cindy Mejia, Administrative Assist.
INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS:
None.
ACTION ITEMS:
1. None
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
This portion of the agenda is for matters such as technical presentations, drafts of proposed
policies, or similar items for which staff is seeking the advice and counsel of the Committee
Members. This portion of the agenda may also include items for information only.
2. Staffing update - Mike Payne gave an update that Patrick Grady was hired as
the new Information Technology Manager and will begin on November 26,
2007.
3. Water Conservation Update
a. Cynthia Mejia presented a comparison of local agency water
conservation resolutions and official positions. The committee
discussed the various resolutions and offered advice to staff on a new
YLWD resolution to be presented to the Board.
b. Synthetic turf rebate. The committee discussed current and possible
rebates. Staff will prepare a report to the Committee on this issue.
4. Fluoridation update. Michael Payne gave an update on MWD's plan to add
fluoridation to all imported water. The start up date is November 19.
5. Status report on District Information activities
a. MWDOC school education program. The School Education Program
was discussed briefly. Staff will prepare and distribute "kid packs" of
YLWD educational information.

b. Water Hero Program. The committee reviewed a new water
conservation program for children that was implemented by MWDOC.
6. GIS update. There was no other update to report on.
ADJOURNMENT:
The meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m. The next meeting of the Public Information-
Technology Committee is scheduled for December 4, 2007 at 4:00 p.m.
