A meeting of the Public Information Committee was called to order by Co mi ee Chair rn
Summerfeld at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District Headquarters, 4622 Plum sa
Drive, Yorba Linda.

STAFF PRESENT
Michael A. Payne, General Manager
ALSO PRESENT
None
ACTION ITEMS
Sponsorship of the annual Children's Water Education Festival. The committee
reviewed this event and approved staffs recommendation to donate $500 in support of
the Festival.
2. Fats, Oils and Grease information to be added to the District's internet web site page.
The Committee reviewed educational materials concerning this issue and approved
staffs recommendation that they be added to the District's web site. The committee
advised the general manager that if an item is in the budget it does not need to come to
a committee for review.
STANDING ITEMS
3. Upcoming public events. The committee reviewed plans for spring and summer public
educational events. The committee discussed an upcoming track meet event sponsored
by the Cities of Yorba Linda and Placentia. The committee requested the general
manager to look into District participation in the event.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
4. Metropolitan Water District shutdown press release. The committee reviewed the
upcoming five-day shutdown of the availability of imported water and public educational
materials.
The committee adjourned at 4:53 p.m.
