PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE
October 2, 2006
A meeting of the Public Information Committee was called to order by Committee Chair William
Mills at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District Headquarters, 4622 Plumosa Drive,
Yorba Linda.

ACTION ITEMS
Mavor's 2006 State of the Citv Address and Luncheon - Letter of reauest. The
committee reviewed this issue and referred it to the Board of Directors for action.
STANDING ITEMS
2. Smart Timer Program. This program involves rebates for residential, commercial and
institutional customers to install landscape irrigation controllers that adjust watering to
current and historical weather conditions. The committee reviewed activity for the month
of August and all activity during the current year.
3. MWDOC School Proaram. This program provides comprehensive water issues
education to elementary school students. The committee reviewed the schedule of
schools within the District that will participate in 2006-2007.
4. West Coast Maaazine storv for the November edition. The committee reviewed text
pertaining to water conservation rebate programs and provided direction to staff.
5. Information Meeting in "Low-pressure" Neiahborhood. The committee reviewed the
results of the "curb-side" information meeting held on September 12. The committee
also discussed the issue on a District-wide basis.
INFORMATIONAL ITEMS
6. District Information Activities. The Committee reviewed the District's participation in
several public activities including the District Facilities Tour held on September 16 and
the Placentia Heritage Days Parade to be held on October 14, and the Yorba Linda
Fiesta Days Parade and Fair to be held on October 28.
7. Publication of LAFCO Municioal Service Resort. The committee reviewed plans to
publish copies of the report for public officials and other interested parties.
