YORBA LINDA WATER DISTRICT
BUILDING AD HOC COMMITTEE MEETING
April 19,2007,4:00 p.m.
A meeting of the Building Ad Hoc Committee was called to order by Committee Chair John W.
Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the District offices located at 4622 Plumosa
Drive, Yorba Linda.

Kenneth Vecchiarelli, Asst. General Manager
Hank Samaripa, Project Engineer

Don Gillis, Gillis & Associates Architects
Jack Panichapan, Gillis & Associates Architects
INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
DISCUSSION ITEMS:
is 1. Status Report of Construction Progress. Mr. Samaripa and Mr. Vecchiarelli reported
on the construction progress. The building pad has been over-excavated and
recompacted, trenching and installation of the underslab plumbing and piping is in
progress.
2. Discuss Water Feature. The Committee discussed the approval process for selecting
the contractor to design and construct the water feature. Three or four qualified
contractors will be asked to prepare initial presentations for the next Building Ad Hoc
Meeting.
3. Discuss Interior Design. Mr. Don Gillis and Mr. Jack Panichapan presented a work
approach and timeline for the interior design. The Committee discussed general
concepts for colors, fabrics, work space and cubicle layouts and determined that the
full board should be presented with the boardroom and public area concept plans when
they are generated.
4. Discuss City of PlacentiaNLWD issues:
a) Power pole relocations. Mr. Vecchiarelli reported on further developments
with the pole relocations. The Committee advised staff to continue the
relocation process with Edison and further communications with Edison
representatives.
b) Richfield Road Improvements. No new progress was reported.

d.) Storm drain improvements. Mr. Vecchiarelli reported the plans and
specifications are currently out for receipt of public bids for the offsite storm
drain in Mira Loma Avenue and Van Buren Street. Bids are due Thursday,
April 26, 2007. There was over 30 plan holders at the time of the meeting.
e) City of Placentia permits/fees. Mr. Vecchiarelli reported the City of
Placentia was prepared to release the building permit for the contractor to
pick up Thursday morning.
f) OCSD permits/fees. Orange County Sanitation District has agreed to
invoice YLWD directly for connection fees assessed for the new
administration building.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Committee adjourned at 5:10 p.m. The next Building Ad Hoc Committee meeting is
scheduled for May 17, 2007.
