conservation in August was at 24% and the cumulative was 34.2%.
General Manager Marcantonio and staff recently attended the Water Shortage
Contingency Planning Workshop hosted by the Department of Water Resources
(DWR) and State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB). The DWR and

and Mr. Marcantonio said he was very vocal at the meeting about the unintended
consequences of a “one size fits all approach”. He also attended the Urban Water
Institute Fall Conference and had an opportunity to discuss mandatory conservation
percentages and wildfire risk with California Natural Resources Secretary John
Laird.
General Manager Marcantonio briefly spoke on SB 814 which was signed into law
earlier this month prohibiting the waste of water or excessive water use and
establishing administrative penalties of up to $500 per unit of water.
